I just don’t care anymore. Actually, I guess I do still care, but just a little bit. I used to be excited whenever Apple would release new products, but honestly, that last time I cared was in September of 2014. You guessed it! The release of the iPhone 6 Plus. I was so ecstatic about the new form factor. The day before getting the 6 Plus felt like Christmas Eve when I was a child. Ever since then, it’s felt like more of the same, year after year.
It took me a while to accept the Face ID, but I’m still fine with fingerprint ID. I honestly haven’t been to apple’s website today…ok, I stopped by the site before the event began but I didn’t stick around. I was actually checking to see if the prices had dropped on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but buying it would be a waste now.
Apple seems to have lost their way. All of the predictions are spot on these days. There’s no more mystique. No more mystery. Other than the M4 iPad Pro I picked up last year, buying their products feels so routine. I will probably buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max but that’s only because my 15 Pro Max was never great from the start. I should’ve retuned it but oh well. Maybe 17 is a charm. We shall see…
